To achieve a lean and toned body you need to include some form of resistance training into your fitness program.

Perform some form of cardiovascular exercise.
Cardio helps strengthen your heart and lungs. Doing cardiovascular exercise helps to increase the efficiency at which your heart can pump blood around your body. This is good for you because it means that your heart does not have to work as hard to pump the same amount of blood around your body as it usually would. This results in a lower resting heart rate and it helps to decrease high blood pressure too.
Aim to perform cardio exercise three to five days a week for 30 to 60 minutes each session.
